Lapland

On January 9th, 2016, I flew to Lapland, landing in Kittilä, in the heart of Finnish Lapland. I would spend two weeks there, alternating between explorations on the Finnish and Swedish sides, in search of the extraordinary.

During this journey, I saw the sun finally rise over the horizon after long days of darkness, and I experienced life in extreme temperatures, down to -42°C.

I came back from this trip with a burnt nose — an unexpected souvenir from prolonged contact with the frozen body of my Canon camera.

Le 9 janvier 2016, j’ai pris l’avion pour la Laponie, atterrissant à Kittilä, au cœur de la Laponie finlandaise. J’y passerais deux semaines, alternant explorations côté finlandais et côté suédois, à la recherche de l’extraordinaire.

Au cours de ce voyage, j’ai vu le soleil se lever à l’horizon après de longues journées d’obscurité, et j’ai expérimenté la vie dans des températures extrêmes, jusqu’à -42 °C.

Je suis revenu de ce voyage avec le nez brûlé par le contact prolongé avec le corps congelé de mon appareil photo.
