   La vie est injuste.
   Mais quel veinaaaaaarrd !
   je n’ai pas les mots pour dire à quel point je t’envie sur ce coup là donc :

   Il y a des moment dans sa vie où il se passe quelque-chose d’horrible.

   Des moments où on se dit : oublie, oublie chaque seconde…

   Oublie comme Jason Bourne dans “la mémoire dans la peau” (je suis pas un immense fan mais c’est quand même bien).

   Je viens de vivre un de ces moments-là.

   Con­traire­ment à un cer­tain Michael Levy (surnommé Michael “la choune” Levy), je n’ai pas été voir MON groupe, 20 ans après mon pre­mier con­cert au Palais des Sports de Toulouse pour le « Wish tour ». J’avais 15 ans.

   Pourquoi ce moment fut-il si détestable ?

   - Si je vous dis que c’était un con­cert unique en Europe dans la mythique salle du Royal Albert Hall de Londres ?

   - Si je vous dit que The Cure ont offert à Michael “fer à cheval” Levy en con­tinu leurs 3 pre­miers albums, à savoir : 3 imag­i­nary boys, Sev­en­teen sec­onds et Faith, tout sim­ple­ment les 3 meilleurs albums de l’histoire du rock ?

   - Si je vous dis qu’en guise de rap­pels (que les anglais appel­lent si déli­cate­ment les « encore ») Michael “la veine” levy a eu droit à toutes les b-sides des 45 tours de l’époque, qua­si­ment jamais jouées en live auparavant ?

   - Si je vous dit que la place de Michael “le chat­tard” Levy était dans une loge en bal­con, ten­due de velours rouge, par­faite­ment placée en sur­plomb de la scène ?

   - Si je vous dit que le con­cert a duré 3h30 ?

   - Si je vous dit enfin que Michael “lucky Mick” Levy a réussi à ren­trer avec son appareil photo, qu’il a shooté non-stop la scène et qu’il a bal­ancé le tout sur son site web, provo­cant une bouil­lie d’émotions allant de l’envie, aux regrets en pas­sant par la nos­tal­gie et la frus­tra­tion… vous devriez com­mencer à com­pren­dre pourquoi it was a – very, very, very – fuck­ing bad moment.

    Hello Mr. Levy, thankyou for shar­ing your beau­ti­ful pho­tos of The Cure @ RAH I’m sorry I can’t write French took it in Jr. high but this was many years ago!
    The web­site is my brother, an artist, he has dab­bled with pho­tog­ra­phy, mostly he is a painter.

    I saw the Cure @ Pan­tages in L.A. on 11/23 and I’m also a fan since 1984. For me, The Cure is a spir­i­tual expe­ri­ence, so once again thankyou for shar­ing your awe­some work.

    Dam,dam,dam, i love the cure, those pics are awsome!!!
    Wish i was there, favorite band and fan since 1987 after ex-girlfriend intro­duced me to the cure-love cats, been fan since then, im from california,ca. usa.
    Never miss a cure con­cert here, most mem­o­rable is at hol­ly­wood bowl, 4tour, cen­ter 2nd row, front of robert, dam couldnt believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!

    C’est mag­nifique in any language!!

    You do truly amaz­ing work! Cap­tur­ing not only the scene but the emo­tion. What type of cam­era and lens did you use? Did you shoot RAW? Did you do a lot of post-processing?

    It’s really inter­est­ing how much the RAH and The Bea­con in NYC look so similar.

    Thanks again for bring­ing back the mem­o­ries of these once-in-a-lifetime shows.

    P.S. The Cure really needs to retain you to doc­u­ment their con­certs. Hope­fully some­one read­ing this will have some con­nec­tions with The Cure.

    Tes pho­tos sont juste sub­limes! j’y étais moi aussi ce soir là; au pre­mier rang dans l’arena — mar­tyrisée, mais telle­ment heureuse !

    Je ne pen­sais pas revivre l’expérience de Syd­ney de façon aussi intense, du coup grâce à ce con­cert je me suis décidée pour NY aussi !

    En tout cas bravo pour les pho­tos et merci de les partager, c’est que du bonheur!

    Won­der­ful to see the Cure cap­tured in such a beau­ti­ful venue. You are an amaz­ing pho­tog­ra­pher with a great eye for detail. The col­ors and light­ing really give your pho­tos beau­ti­ful atmos­phere — I missed this RAH Reflec­tions con­cert — but through your eyes I feel like I was indeed in Lon­don. Won­der­ful to see a few famil­iar faces in your pho­tos as well..

    Excel­lent job. I look for­ward to see­ing your next project — Cure or not — but hop­ing The Cure hire you for future concerts.

    Fan­tas­tic pho­tos! I love your per­spec­tive on the entire event — not just the show itself.
    I’ve always appre­ci­ated the thought that goes into the Cures stage light­ing for each song — even when it’s a fairly sim­ple set up such as this. You can hear the songs in your head as they fit with the atmos­pheres cre­ated on stage.
    How­ever, I found the Holy Hour to be sur­pris­ing! Red & white — almost fire-like! Excel­lent work, and thanks for sharing.

    Wish they had brought this show to Chicago, but your pho­tos helped ease the loss.

    I’m in the pictures!

    Sec­ond photo, bright light by the sound desk, there is a guy stand­ing and tak­ing pho­tos. I’m sit­ting next to him, head down — on Twit­ter I think, send­ing an update to Craig! I was the one who tweeted the photo of Tim Bur­ton, who I sat next to, but he arrived much closer to showtime.

    I’m also in the Walk photo num­ber 2, but it would take too long to point me out. You can also see Tim Bur­ton there.

    j’ai eu la chance de vivre ça moi aussi avec ma copine (on nous voit d’ailleurs en pleine séance de vision­age after­show sur la photo 30, à droite der­rière la fille au pull rayé) moment mag­ique, les 3h30 ont passé en 5 min­utes…
    dire que ça fait déjà un mois que c’est passé…
    vive­ment les “next three”, même si ça ne pourra pas être aussi bon que ce Reflec­tion ;-)

    C’était une bonne soirée, dom­mage que le son n’était pas à la hau­teur de l’évenement, mais il parait que c’est comme ça, que l’acoustique de la salle n’est pas super, même pour les con­certs de musique clas­sique.
    Et c’était un con­cert classique !

    Un grand bravo et merci pour ces mag­nifiques pho­tos, qui m’ont par ailleurs amené à décou­vrir et apprécier votre tra­vail en général !
    Comme la plu­part des per­son­nes qui ont man­qué l’évènement, je plagierais en dis­ant qu’autant je regret­tais après coup de ne pas y être, aujourd’hui je suis vrai­ment dégoûté ;-) ! Quelles sen­sa­tions avez-vous dû avoir dans un cadre comme le RAH qui colle com­plète­ment à l’ambiance des albums ! En tout cas, il faut que le groupe les voient, ces pho­tos !
    J’essayais inno­cem­ment (bien entendu…) de récu­perer quelques pho­tos à met­tre en fond d’écran ou sur mon Face­book pour écoeurer mes potes, sans suc­cès. Suis-je hand­i­capé ou vous est-il pos­si­ble de m’en don­ner l’accès ?

    J’espère que les pho­tos don­nent la dimen­sion de l’évènement… et per­me­t­tent à ceux qui n’étaient pas là de le vivre — un tout petit peu — après coup.

    Par ailleurs, il n’y a aucune pro­tec­tion sur les pho­tos… aucun besoin d’accès par­ti­c­ulier pour faire briller ton Face­book ou fond d’écran ; )

    Hello Michael, i’m a fan of The Cure, from 24 years, and I just want to tell you as an artist and designer, that you’re a great, sim­ply a great.

    Have you tal­ent my dear M. I unfor­tu­nately did not have the oppor­tu­nity to be there in that day, but your pho­tos doc­u­men­tary are out­stand­ing, in a nut­shell. It seems to be own there, even on stage, really amaz­ing. Were you able to cre­ate some­thing extra­or­di­nary, no doubt.

    I give you, all my most sin­cere com­pli­ments, can i ask you only one thing? I could pub­lish your pho­tos doc­u­men­tary on my face­book page?

    Doing so, i want wich all my Cure friends, they know about you, and even pub­lish­ing the your mes­sage of the your site,I would do of the adver­tis­ing to you,because you’re too very good, in a nut­shell.     Can’t stop look­ing at the pho­tos they are won­der­ful! Thank you for posting.

    It was a mag­i­cal night and I won’t ever for­get it. I stood in the front row for all of the Faith album and couldn’t decide what I wanted to do more … stare or close my eyes and become totally enrap­tured. As it turned out, I did a lit­tle of both.

    Wish it could have gone on for­ever. All the best to you with your pho­tog­ra­phy and I hope you get to work with The Cure offi­cially someday.

    Je suis fan depuis 1984…je les ai vu en 1992 (ce con­cert est à jamais gravé dans ma mémoire)
    J’aurais donné cher pour aller les voir au royal

    Tu as beau­coup de chance, c’est un des rares groupes sur cette terre ;-) à apporter cette émotion.…c’est une véri­ta­ble com­mu­nion, quelque chose de raris­sime ! C’est un groupe unique !!!

    Superbes pho­tos !

    Je n’ose imag­iner ce qu’aurait été le résul­tat si tu avais pu ren­trer tout le matériel que tu aurais voulu.

    Le fait de sur­plomber la scêne offre une vraie vision d’un con­cert de Cure.

    J’ai man­qué celui-ci, je ne les ai pas vu depuis 2008, et en voy­ant ton tra­vail, j’ai un peu la sen­sa­tion d’avoir par­ticipé à cette soirée.

    par le plus grand des hasard j’étais devant le RAH le dimanche 13 novem­bre, fin d’un week-end inou­bli­able avec ma fille de 13 ans, et en m’apercevant que le mardi suiv­ant Bob et sa clique allait enchanter ce lieu mythique je suis tombé à genou devant l’affiche de The Cure , ai cou­vert ma tête de pous­sière, me suis arraché les cheveux et ai hurlé Ahh­h­h­h­h­h­hhh.

    Ma fille qui sait que je suis amoureux de ce groupe depuis le pre­mier album était morte de rire (cru­elle jeunesse).

    Jeune homme, je vous le dis, vous avez atteint les porte du Par­adis; que la vie vous embrasse encore et encore.

    Un écorché vif de 49 ans qui a bien essayé d’arrêter cette drogue “curesque” et sans espoir de guérison.

    Merci pour ces clichés qui m’ont fait pleurer de bon­heur.

    Amu­sant car comme toi et comme jacques (le com­men­taire juste au-dessus), j’ai fait le même par­cours. 1er novem­bre 1987 pour Kiss me à For­est en Bel­gique et le dernier au RAH pour cette expéri­ence magnifique.

    Que dire si ce n’est que ces pho­tos sont mag­nifiques, que l’on peut sen­tir l’immense beauté de cette salle et revivre cer­tains fris­sons du con­cert pen­dant, notam­ment, l’album Faith.

    Ces pho­tos me par­lent d’autant plus que l’on me voit sur l’une d’elles et que cela me fera donc un super sou­venir ;-).

    Notam­ment (André d’Hambourg en tout début de liste de mes­sages) qui a demandé la main de sa future femme pen­dant le con­cert et voulait un souvenir…

    Quand à Jacques, avec qui nous parta­geons la même enver­gure “Live” avec toi Philippe, il faut qu’il se ras­sure, le seul qui sem­ble “sécher” au fil des ans, c’est bien Simon : )

    PS : Voir The Cure à “For­est”, ça claque.

     I just saw your pho­tos of The Best Musi­cal Band In The World — THE CURE — and they are the best ive seen in a long time.

     The Royal Albert Hall is an amaz­ing place as i can tell from the pho­toes — i wish i was there — I saw them with my three kids in Aus­tralia at The Syd­ney Opera House on the Reflec­tions First Night.

     I was Mez­ma­rized for Days after See­ing them that close and that LOUD .Yeah.
